The Yacht "Ocean Tramp"

Ocean Tramp - the perfect support yacht for polar expeditions

Ocean Tramp was built in 1997 by Alu Yachtbau GMB in Germany and designed by Horst Glacier and Kurt Reinke. Formerly owned by the legendary Yosemite and Alaska climber Charlie Porter, she has been operated since 2014 by Laura Smith and Federico Guerrrero of Quixote Expeditions. Ocean Tramp  is  well known for her speed, safety, and comfort, and is ideal for expeditions to Antarctica.


With her spacious living/dining area and double cabins, Ocean Tramp has a very homely and comfortable atmosphere.


·  Dimensions: Length: 19.55 m, beam: 5.35 m, draft: 2.20 m

·  Construction: Aluminum hull

·  Engine: Perkins Sabre 215 HP

·  Generators: Kohler 5 KW and portable 2 KW Honda

·  Capacity: 5,000 liters of diesel and 2,500 liters of fresh water

·  Accommodations: Four double guest cabins (1 deluxe with private bathroom + 2 deluxe cabins with shared bathroom, 1 compact cabin with shared bathroom),plus crew quarters for five crew

·  Speed: Maximum speed of 8 knots and a cruising speed of 7 knots

·  Endurance: 5,000 nautical miles with the engine
